Response from SONGS:

Like Columbia, SONGS has just begun using the OSL badges. When we received our shipment there were 8 badges that the pin had broken off and since have had 1 assigned badge that the pin had broken. Landauer sent us some extra badge clip holders and extra pins which are now located out in the field where OSL badges are issued.

Haven't noticed any cracking of cases yet. We started using OSL for 4th quarter this year and will begin Annual in January.

Response from Columbia:

We just began using the OSLN dosimeter from Landauer this monitoring period. I have not seen any cracking or breakage of the case. However, I have had several occurrences of the plastic pin breaking. The pin essentially holds all parts of the dosimeter together. Landauer is aware of this defect and I was told they are working on an improved design.

Powernet: Landauer OSLN case cracking at pin

Fort Calhoun would like to know if anyone has observed cracking or breakage of the Landauer OSLN case where the pin connects the TLD clip to the casing?  We recently saw some with damage, and after investigating, found quite a few more, ranging from mild cracking to broken pieces in the clip area.  We replaced them and sent them to the vendor to take a look at.

Thanks,
Dohn
