North Anna's reply:

Contaminated Areas are posted if loose surface contamination levels are
>1000dpm/100cm2. We use disc smears to quantify contamination levels.

Large Area masslinns or sticky rollers are used for contamination evaluation
and particle surveys.

Loose contamination found outside of contaminated areas (CCA?) is not
controlled as contaminated unless >1000pdm/100cm2. Identification of low level
contamination on surveys may trigger decontamination or further evaluation to
determine the source.

We use OREX coveralls for working in contaminated areas. Workers are allowed
to wear OREX scrubs while working in the RCA.

Protective clothing worn in posted contaminated areas are not treated as a PCE.

Contamination (>100 ccpm) identified on modesty garments (scrubs) are treated
as a PCE.

Subject: Powernet: PCE's and loose contamination events

Good Afternoon,

I was wondering what your plants do for classifications of the following?

Loose contamination?

Is all loose contamination found outside of a CCA classified as loose
contamination? Are there instances where it would not be counted as a loose
event (floor cleaning, large area masslins, etc...)?

Does your station use coveralls as RPPE or civil clothing? Do you use scrubs?
Are events on scrubs or other coveralls all counted as PCE's?
When would it not be counted?

Thanks
