Palo Verde is phasing out the PA-30 in favor of the 3M Versaflo system.

The PA-30s were working fine for us, but we started a replacement project due
to obsolescence issues.

The Versaflo units have a lower profile, a long battery life, and are
compatible with a wide variety of hoods and face shields. 3M also has some
short videos linked from their website that show how to don and doff the
equipment. One cool feature is that everything the user should touch for
assembly or adjustment is blue, which is convenient for training purposes. On
the down side, these units don’t seem safe for jumping generators. At our
mock-up, the workers experienced significant heat stress even in the fairly
cool (55 – 60 degrees) mock-up room.
