Columbia uses the Max-Air 800 hood. They are very light weight have excellent peripheral vision and the blower unit is contained in the hood, no hoses to deal with. The batteries when new will last between 4-6 hours when fully charged. They are very well received by the workers who use them. Disadvantages, they cannot be used in wet environments and are not approved for welding, cutting or grinding. We issue approximately 500 of these units during and outage and less than 50 during and operational cycle.
