Hi Heather, We use URI - Unified RASCAL Interface which has a Rapid Assessment option and Detailed Assessment option. Only 5 pathways are available for Rapid Assessment and our Control Room Shift Managers (SMs) and Shift Technical Advisors (STAs), i.e. Operations do those. Detailed Assessments are done by Dose Projection Team Leaders (DPTLs) who are made up of all sorts (RP and Chemistry scientists (analysts) and supervisors and Sr. RPTs). There are 20+ pathways available for Detailed Assessment.
Since our DPTLs are usually a team of 2 - a 30-45 min response person and a 60-75 minute response person - at least one DPTL is supposed to arrive within a half hour of alert notification. Therefore, our Operations folks are trained to perform a Rapid Assessment within the first 30 minutes. Hope that's useful. Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
