Hi, I noticed that there was a talk title "Linux Laptop Battery Life" at Ottawa Linux Symposium held recently. The paper that describes this is at

Black screensaver doesn't save power as I thought it does. In fact, it consumes a little more power than a screensaver that just displays a white screen and does nothing else. (Section 4.1.2.). 2. Enabling throttling has negative impact on battery life (Section 4.1.8). I thought the powersave package's default configuration enables throttling for the powersave scheme. Should the throttling be enabled or not when running on battery?
