Julien,

I consulted two dictionaries on "factoring" versus "factorizing".

Harrap's Chambers Encyclopedic dictionary only knows the verb "factorise"
(British English I suppose) or "factorize" (USA English").

Longman Dictionary of contemporary English only knows the verb "factor" and
states it is USA English.

So there are at least three forms of the same verb :-)
