an offsetting consideration, with today's' uberfast CPUs, an idle processor chip draws maybe 5-10 watts, while one doing max work is as much as 120 watts... this almost certainly requires the system fans to spin on 'high', which greatly increases the ambient noise, as well as heat output (your 800 CPUs would be drawing 80kW more than they would idle, thats not peanuts). this has caused me to drop most of my newer systems off gimps. _______________________________________________ Prime mailing list [email protected] http://hogranch.com/mailman/listinfo/prime
