HPLIP was upgraded to v3.9.8 in build 126.  It sounds like there is a 
regression in the hpijs functionality (at least for this printer).  From 
the error messages, it really looks more like some sort of overflow or 
type conversion issue while processing the page size attributes from the 
PPD.  It's possible, though unlikely, that there were some changes in 
the PPD file in 3.9.8 that you need.  You might try re-creating the 
queue under LP.
Also, HPLIP includes the older hpijs driver that works with 
ghostscript/foomatic and as a result a few print systems.  It also 
includes an hpcups driver that is better integrated with CUPS.  Another 
possibility would be to switch to CUPS (see 
http://blogs.sun.com/jacobs/entry/more_on_using_cups_in) and create the 
queue there.  Regardless, you should file a bug and include your current 
LP configuration (/etc/lp/...) and any log messages (/var/lp.logs, 
syslog, ...)
