Thanks Nigel, for a very comprehensive answer to my questions. This sounds
like a project for the future, but I have a feeling that I will definitely
be trying it. Is there a way of sealing prints so the dye doesn't rub off?

Record Rapid was a bromide, fibre based paper made by Agfa. It was archival
quality, and the prints you got from it were fantastic - beautiful deep
blacks, good tonal range. The last time I used it was in the mid '80's and
the prints I made then still look great - the only minor downside is the
whites have yellowed very slightly - but after pushing 18 years, I am not
complaining!

Regards,

Steve
