It's all down to the suffix of the file. In my Outlook 2002 (PC) a number of file types are blocked totally and there's no option to alter this! Nice one Microsoft. So if I do want to be able to receive a .exe file, Microsoft have decided I can't - unless I get the sender to put it in a compressed folder or give it a false suffix! Their 'workaround' to stop potential viruses is to blanket block a number of file types. Anything ending in the following suffix will be blocked. It could be that as it came from a Mac it had no suffix, and suffixless files may also be blocked.
