Actually my PC vid card is not compatable w/Optical (the PC is not used much for photographic work) but the DTP92 physically plugs in via an adaptor which came in the box. On the Mac,the Keyspan plugs into the usb port and gives you 2 seriel ports as outlets, one which we use for the DTP92, other for a Wacom tablet. In either case, power is via the normal mains adaptor socket into the DTP92 cable. Now here is the prob. Optical 3.7 works OK with OS 9.22 BUT Precal does not work at all! It hangs the box. This on a 867 DP. Earlier G4's that we have are OK with Optical 3.1 & precal. In OSX (yes despite what I've said I am playing with it - and still think its crap!) the seriel DTP92 using Optical 3.7 is not recognised despite having the latest Keyspan drivers being installed. Colorvision tech support just quote the readme notes that came with the 3.7 software. ie so far they are crap, not even bothering to read my question properly. Whing number 3 is that whilst our seriel connector A3 Wacoms work faultlessly in OS9.2 with a keyspan usb/seriel adaptor there is no prospect of Wacom releasing drivers to use them under OSX. Since we have 3 of them at 400 each I'm a bit pissed off at Wacom. Seems like profiteering to me Looks like we'll be using OS9.2 for a while - together with most of the prepress guys who are not gonna ditch quark for the pretty interface of OSX.
