Dear SteveActually my PC vid card is not compatable w/Optical (the PC is not used much for photographic work) but the DTP92 physically plugs in via an adaptor which came in the box. On the Mac,the Keyspan plugs into the usb port and gives you 2 seriel ports as outlets, one which we use for the DTP92, other for a Wacom tablet.
Thanks for providing the additional information. All points noted and now the decision as to whether to go your route or the alternative that Bob has suggested!
In either case, power is via the normal mains adaptor socket into the DTP92 cable. Optical 3.7 works OK with OS 9.22 BUT Precal does not work at all! It hangs the box. This on a 867 DP. Earlier G4's that we have are OK with Optical 3.1 & precal. In OSX (yes despite what I've said I am playing with it - and still think its crap!) the seriel DTP92 using Optical 3.7 is not recognised despite having the latest Keyspan drivers being installed.
Nothing seems straight forward in all this!
Colorvision tech support just quote the readme notes that came with the 3.7 software. ie so far they are crap, not even bothering to read my question properly.
