Does any one have experience of using the S2 @ 1600? How are the results?

Richard,
The Fuji S2  still has quite a bit of noise at 1600  but it is certainly a lot less than the Nikon D1x for example and probably better quality than neopan 1600 (but without the nice grain structure!)
I believe there are a couple of Photoshop plugins that can be used to reduce noise...but I haven't tried any.
The S2 certainly gives great results at lower iso settings and will give printable results at 1600.
I have  only used 1600 a few times to get me out of a problem or two. On one occasion I ended up adding some extra grain in photoshop to hide the effect of noise, it ended up printed A4 and looked just like neopan!
I'm sure there must be at least one Fuji rep driving around with an S2 that they can let you try...might be worth giving them a call before damaging that Amex card!

Cheers

Rob.
