HI,

Back after and absence due to too much work (yikes!) oh and Christmas and
all that.

Had trouble with "blocked heads" on my epson 1160. Read Neil B's tips via
the prodig site on cleaning. I was already to go ahead with the windowlene
but did a quick ink cart change first (as per Epson's advice in the manual)
and presto all was fine - nozzle check worked a treat. So my pet theory is
this...the ink carts go dry over a very short period of time if left unused
and/or the "status monitor" which lets you know how much ink you have left
in the machine is fallible. In my case I was half way through a print when
the red in ran out. The machine clearly thought that because the yellow and
blue ink pot were full that the cart was ok. The black ink cart was totally
dead or dry....

So my top tip this christmas is change your ink carts before you get the
windowlene out...

On another matter....iam haveing some trouble from time to time with my new
lacie 120mb firewire hdd. Not that happy about suporting sleep mode of the
Mac and I am wondering if there is a fix for this or that the machine might
be flakey as the bits inside are made by Maxtor...Agggggh!
