But they do.
Reproducing art is a VERY large subject and I bet one of the best people to
help in this particular area is Tony Riley, who took a real scientific
approach to the subject.
The problems is difference in contrast between various originals, and a
small issue called metamerism. Different paint have different metameric
properties and as such colour management is very hard as what the camera see
differ from what we see, and further more the color change in different
lighting.
