Many years ago I had a merchant account with Access and had a manual card roller/printer device: if I remember correctly I managed to negotiate them down from 5% to 3.5% commission.

Although I am not a member, I understand that the MPA has some kind of deal with NatWest whereby members have the opportunity to get a telephone connected card swipe machine, and pay a low commission of 1.9% per transaction.

Many other business groups or organisations also arrange merchant facilities with a card company for their members.

There are many times now, with foreign clients, that I think it would be advantageous to have those facilities again.

Do AOP have a scheme?

Could ProDIG have a scheme? :-)

The fist and biggest question is. Where is the best place to get a merchant
account from?

Is it my bank, or are there other options?

Also what are the costs and where is the best deal for a company with a
small turnover on the cards.
