NEVER trash files from OS 9. That's how the problems begin... There are numerous freeware applications at versiontracker, or more simply, you can just open up the information folder (select item & press cmd +i) on the trashed item that won't delete and change the permissions so that you the administrator are the owner and you have full read/write permissions. It takes about ten seconds.
