Have a look at the Fuji S2 for skin tones, out of the current batch of '35mm
digitals' it seems to give the most accurate skin tones. In reality most
images will require a little tweaking in photoshop to give the best results.
I think some of the rubbery results could well be down to over retouching..a
lot of the women's glossies, especially cover shots, are guilty of this (be
it shot on film or digital).
Certainly for magazine work the 35mm digital cameras are more than up to the
job. I went digital a couple of years ago ( a lot of my work is for
magazines) and although I don't want to get into a film v digital debate,
digital capture suits the way I work.
