He converted the 1Ds to B&W using 'convert to grayscale' which is of course
the worse way to convert to B&W, so it's perhaps not the best example.

This week I did the same shot on a 1Ds and RZ with E100S.  Unfortunately
it'll be a while before I can show them to anyone as they're with the
client.  Also I don't have a drum scanner!  If anyone wants to volunteer a
drum scanner in the name of science, let me know.

The detail from the 1Ds file is phenomenal, and grain free, unlike the
E100S.  I added some Photokit grain to the 1Ds shot.
