Best to install a router, there are various makes available, Linksys, Netgear, Buffalo etc. I personally use a Buffalo ethernet/wireless router with 4 macs, a PC and visiting laptops all using the same NTL connection. The PCs will of course require an ethernet card if they are not already fitted. It is also possible to do it without a router, using one of the 2 PCs as a server - but she will still need ethernet cards.
