Paul Sounds like a case of 'stiction'. Microdrives being the delicate little things they are, any pressure on the flat surfaces of the drive can cause the drive plattern and gubbins to be pressed together - hence the noise as it struggles to move inside. AFAIK, the only cure is to send it off to be repaired as if it is stiction, the drive needs to be disassembled. Failing that, bin it and buy a new one! I've seen the 1Gb ones for 250 - still more than a repair I know, but when that's all the images are being recorded on.... hth regards Nick D -- Nick DunmurPhotographer =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
