CR allows you to process a number of images individually in a fairly short time so it could be good for productivity. I have not seen sharpening problems with my D60 images, but it does blow delicate highlights, though possibly no more than in-camera conversion. So there is still a place for linear conversion, if you can get the right profile. The colour seems to me to be good: the reds are tamed but fire engine red is not murdered, and yellows seem well saturated.
