Hi It's always a useful reminder to realise the (relative) fragility of digital media. I've noticed a few CD's with problems, but was able to find the particular batch and copy them. Whilst I tend to avoid the 100 CDs for a Pound brands, I've noticed read failures from almost any make.
One useful tip is to keep an old slow drive around. I have a x2 speed that lives in the Mac 7600 that we use as a router/firewall. I've found that if you can't read a disk in that drive it's almost certainly lost. It's worth trying a suspect disk in several machines, since their abilities vary. bye for now Keith Cooper Northlight Images http://northlight-images.co.uk Photography - Digital Imaging - Apple Mac Consultancy Tel +44 (0)116 291 9092 Mobile +44 (0)780 162 9397 =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
