Dear Alan, Spec sheet says flash synch up to 1/250th maybe you have a dodgy one ?????.
If you are using dedicated flash, try this setting. -1 on the body +1 on the flash and either have slow synch on or off. Jusr use program mode on the slowest iso so you don't go over the 1/250th.
