Although in all friendliness if your outset is using options that are not suitable (because they are there for other things than striaght profiling) of course different users can get different results (which were your original claim), but you are basically wasting a lot of time. And even if you get killer results using D65/10 degree, and Papergray+, and chroma+ in profilemaker for your won 1290 (or whatever), it is highly unlikely it will yield similar results on another printer, or even on a similar printer using a different paper type...
