Hi Nick,

I usually convert my raw files within the canon software which i reach thru
the import tab in photoshop. The problem is that my canon software, which is
the only way(except maybe the phase one software) of acceptably converting
canon raw files, is crashing every time i try to open the raw files my
camera is producing. hence, how can i tell if they are corrupted or not?
Especially as windows explorer recognise the files and show the thumbnails
and the details.

Breezebrowser will perform the conversion, but i don't like the results at
all; and if breeze can do it why not the Canon software?

What i have here is a fairly complicated situation, one which my typing
skills are certainly not up to. The probs i'm having relate to either the
camera or the software.

Justin.

Justin,
Forgive the blunt question, but do you know what to do with a raw file?
Photoshop will not open it and you will have to use the Canon supplied file
viewer of Breezebrowser (or others) to convert from Raw to TIFF or
JPEG...First download a copy of breeze from breezesys.com and install then
try browsing a folder or disk with the raw files. If this works (as I
suspect it will, then convert one to a TIFF and presto, photoshop is in
action again!
Cheers,
NickWB
