Ektachrome ( without the c ) is and has been for decades my Transparency film of choice ! The Velvia brigade may well like the over rated (Speed) film which gives dense blacks and oversaturated colours but I prefer the nuetrality and realism that Ektachrome gives. Its very easy to scan, enabling maximum detail to be harvested. Scanning Velvia then printing always requires post scanning contrast reduction ( for me and my drum scanner) in order for the shadow detail to be reproduced as well as the highlights. However having championed Ektachrome I have to say I get better results from My Minolta Dimage 7Hi than I do from film /process/scan, so much so that Ive only processed two rolls of 120 this year.no spotting and faster workflow !!
