Basically its accuracy and its ease of use. Having downloaded the brochure I'm surprised by how little it explains.

And the documentation that comes with it is very sparse as well. But it's not really needed. This thing is VERY simple to setup and use to create great profiles. I'd say it took less than an hour from the time that received mine to read the documentation (actually watch a couple of Flash movies that walk you through the process), set up and create an excellent profile for my Epson 9600.

I've been using it for about a month now. Every profile I've done so far has been really good on the first try. I've not felt the need to edit a single one. This is a huge improvement over the older gear I had been using where it would take hours to manually read a zillion patches with a Digital Swatchbook and almost always edit the results.

The license for EyeOne Photo is also much nicer than some of the competition in that it gives you more freedom in how you use your profiles and the device. For example you won't be in violation of the agreement if you want to install the software on your clients computer and calibrate their display. It's a great way to educate some of your less color savvy clients about the benefits of maintaining a better color managed workflow.

EyeOne Photo is the most useful and most cost efficient of any color management tool that I've bought.
