Michael Hadn't fully realised that might be the prob & just thought that it was a physical problem. As a PC user, would you know if it would be better formatting the drive on a PC than a mac. ie is there a low level format utility that completely restores the drive to its factory default state. If so, I would hope that the camera would recognise the card & correctly format it. I have a feeling that IBM do have such a prog.
