It actualy is a digital question since some have complained that older
versions of the ProFoto equipments do not work well as "DIgital Lighting",
but the new ones do.

Many people love ProFoto, many people hate it. Perhaps you should look for a
list or forum and get more user's feedback before shopping.

To me it is a strong ,powerful and reliable set of lights, but remember it
also has the more expensive set of light modifiers you can buy. If you
alread have Elinchrome accesories, then you are well off, since all you need
to buy is the adaptor ring for each light to receive the Elinchrome things.
AS soon as I can afford it , I will jump into the 7B Battery operated unit
providing 1200W/s on location, free of cables.

And if you make up your mind, then check the Used Section of B&H. I happened
to find a sale of several Profoto Demo equipment like a year and a half ago,
and picked my power plant, 2 standard strobes ( modelling light etc) and a
(new) RIng Flash, all of for less than half the price tag. Seems like
Mamiya on that ocasion bought several new units for a show-display in a
conference and then sold the whole package to B&H. THey were selling like
hot pizza. I called in the morning to verify stock and told me they had 12
combos left. Grabbed a taxi to B&H and when I picked my equipment , there
were just 3 combos left. Many New York photographers use ProFoto.

Being in Europe, close the Sweeden was no guarantee of better pricing
either, since when I went to Madrid and Barcelona I thought of buying
accesories and checked prices and ironically I would get the same items in
a better deal in NY and brought nothing from that trip.
