lighting, color balancing, mixed lighting, exposure times, moving
subjects...are all handled the same ,regardless of shooting digital
or film. The issue of shadow noise depends largely on the digital
system and the ASA used, but take a properly exposed transparency and
really look at the underexposed shadows and you WILL SEE noise. I use
a Phase One on a Blad and have shot with TUG lighting down to 4-6
seconds...yes there is noise in the underexposed shadows which is
easily rectified in post capture processing...and enlargements of
40X60" look great. Color balance has alot to do with the software
presets, of which PhaseOne is great...but still I might tweak the
color in Photoshop. As with any medium format system. however,
parallex, distortion, key stoning, etc are of concern...but again
fixed within photoshop. many med format backs can be used on 4X5
camera bodies thus using the swings, and tilts to aid DOF and
parallex issues. If you want I can email you some samples
