The Mac platform does not support USB v2 all that well, you most definitely
need a Firewire CD Burner.

I have just bought one, it runs at phenomenal speed and has a generous
under-run buffer of 2meg, so it can burn CD's from your PC/Mac network. It's
a Lacie 52x24x52 Mac/PC compatible, built like a lightweight slim metal-tiny
tank, which is 2U-rackable *and* has two Firewire ports. Worked straight out
of the box. Got it from Calumet for 116 quid.

Use Toast Titanium 5 - it does everything - seems rock solid - get the 5.2.1
updater.

Don't know that much about PC's, so there you go.
