I think you may be confusing the preview image, with the Thumbnail image. Either way, it has nothing to do with the thread, which is talking about the program Preview, on the mac :-) To get correct thumbnails, either save the file in PS or perhaps try loading the images in Graphic Converter (using its browser function), check its preferences. This may create the correct thumbnail images and the preview images.
