Hi Christina

Oooops! This time you didn't remember to slap your own wrist - and you were doing so well :-)

Trimming would also have avoided quoting an e-mail address. No doubt all down to the heat in Toledo <g>

Hi Rod

I've just tried importing a PNg file to PPT, but again it won't accept it. It would seem my version ofm PPt (V 4) is from the dark ages. But I like th idea of PNG. Maybe I should buy the upgrade after all. :-)

Thanks for the tip re Image Ready. Yes, I have it!

Re speediness in PPT. I havne't had any problems on
that front using lots of tiffs in one file. But the
file is, hoever, too big to send by email as an
attachment which I would really like to do, rather
than use the post.

Christina,
You have had several replies all hopefully adding to
your
enlightenment, I have certainly used JPEGs in fact
at one time it was
almost the only way to get pictures into PowerPoint.

I have also found that for some subjects the PNG
format has given
smaller and punchier files for PowerPoint.

Another point; you say you do not have ImageReady -
have you removed
it? It is partnered with Photoshop. Try the Goto
item at the base of
the toolbox.

Save for Web is your best bet for judging the
quality you can achieve
against the smallness of the file, as well as
offering you several
choices of file format and image size. Remember that
speed counts in a
PowerPoint presentation.
