It was a pro-Lab. I feel it would be unprofessional of me to say who
they were with a name and shame because I've enjoyed consistently good
service otherwise. They did go to a massive effort to sort things out
and I got a 10 pack of Velvia as a goodwill gesture, they refunded me
the costs of the job and have asked me how I'd like the matter resolved
with regards to fixing their mistake and have stated that costs are not
an issue, the priority is getting my work fixed. I think they've got the
right attitude and it was explained that they've only just started
offering X-Pan processing and the idiot who made the mistake was new and
didn't realise the X-Pan was 35mm and Panoramic (if he'd have looked at
the transparency, he would have gotten a big clue!). They were
disarmingly honest/apologetic about things so they'll keep my 35mm
business. This is the reason I'm looking for an experienced X-Pan lab,
I'm not 100% confident and fortunately this work doesn't have a tight
turnaround otherwise I would be in the proverbial and with a first time
client to boot.
Metro's price sounds ridiculous but you don't say if they're providing mounts aswell. The lab I mentioned - Genesis in Fulham 020 7731 2227 charge �5.00 +vat. After all Xpan exposed films don't require specialist processing.
