Were you running a earlier version of Toast without "buffer underun
protection" or was it switched off? This could have been the cause.

Most people, including magazines like Macworld & MacUser, would recommend
Toast as the number one burner software. It should be considered a must have
Application for a Mac user.

That's not to say there is anything wrong with Apple's burner software. I
think you'll find that Toast merely has more options etc.
