Hi list, I was hoping for some advice on Raw processing, I am just getting to grips with a new 1ds and have downloaded the capture one raw processing software to try out.
If I process a shot with capture one I appear to be getting a degraded image compared with the Canon file viewer software, I have checked the same image side by side through both with no adjustments and have found that the image from Capture One has areas whicah look posterised, mad all the worse for a slight increase (+10) with the saturation in Photoshop which the Canon processed image does not exhibit. I am fairly new to this (raw processing) but can not work out why the Capture one image is so bad. I have left all the settings as it was when downloaded so sharpening etc is at default. It appears to have "blocked in" areas of similar colour / tone and has no subtle gradations which the canon software seems to have kept, it is of course particularly apparent in soft / out of focus areas of colour (flowers with soft green backgrounds etc..) Any guidance would be much appreciated even to the extent of a "workflow/processing description if anyone can recommend one fro Raw work, I seem to have gone back a step in image quality here. thanks Stephen Shepherd =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
