Hey Folks There is a fair amount of interest regarding this scanner so I thought I'd share some experiences with anyone who was a potential purchaser. I had a chat with the branch manager of the local Jessops who I know well and I've ordered the Dimage on the understanding that I can test drive it, I'm not going to be using the bundled software so they're fine with my returning it if I don't feel it cuts the mustard.
The only units available are pre-ordered items and speaking to Minolta directly, there is a 2 week delay on supply so in mid July, Jessops et al will have general stock and the backorders will be filled. I'm having some degree of difficulty in establishing whether the product can accommodate X-Pan panoramic width as it seems the two holders supplied have frame borders to hold the image area flat. I've e-mailed Minolta tech supprt (dimage-support-uk [at] minoltaeurope.com) and I'm just waiting on a response. They've been very helpful but I guess its not the standard query they have to deal with.
