I'd really appreciate it if any owners of 2100/200 printers could contact me off-list and tell me roughly how many prints they get before they need to clean the nozzles, or how frequently they need to clean them. For example, 60 to 100 A3 prints between cleaning cycles, or perhaps needing to clean every 6 months...

Dear William

Sorry no idea but suggest that this information is useful to many here so best kept on list!

I need some facts from other users to throw at the repair shop, whose best advice so far is 'if 2 or 3 cleaning cycles don't fix the problem, switch it off for a few hours before trying it again'. Great. I've done that twice today and now I'm running out of hours....Hopefully it will respond to being left overnight.

My 'emergency' suggestion unless someone has better to offer you in the limited time available is:

Determine which colour is giving you the problems, Magenta/dark magenta for example and then make up a 'purge' file that just uses those colours. Select your colours from the CMYK colour picker in PS using full M for M or for the tint of M select a 20% value....obviously if the problem is C .....

Oh yes, turning the printer off and waiting a couple of minutes before having another go can help as the heads get a wipe each time I gather and that can be helpful.

If the purge sheets seem to have failed, don't despair, just do a head clean and all may be well. That has been my very recent painful experience and I pass it on for what it's worth.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
