Hi William, I have a 2100 that I purchased about 5 months ago and would estimate that I have done around 300 A3 prints and probably 200 A4 in that time. During this period, it has never been necessary to clean the nozzles. Basically the printer should carry out its own maintenance to keep the nozzles clean as it works.
It does happen that nozzles get a little blocked from time to time, especially with lack of use, but the only time when I have known Epson printers to need regular cleaning like this is if you consistently fail to switch them on and off properly and they are started by the mains power. This seems to ruin your ink consumption and degrade quality. FWIW, I try to avoid even switching it on unless I know that I have several prints to do and if I do use it, I'll make sure it stays on for as long as possible.
