The PCMCIA adapter that came with one of our 1gb IBM Mds seems to transfer at about
2/3rds the speed of a USB2
sandisk 6in1 reader, which is about twice the speed of the firewire form the S2. Using
an Acer travelmate 803,
centrino 1.5, running XPpro, 1gb ram. have only resorted to the pc card twice (left
the lead for the reader at
home).

A question for those who might know: has anyone tried downloading from more than one
USB2 reader at once? My
thinking is to run two or three, to dump files from more than one Mdrive... Any idea
whether the controller for
the USB2 ports will just divide it's potential between the various readers, defeating
the object of having
multiple readers...?

Afternoon,

Does anyone have experience with the PCMCIA adapters for dumping the
contents of Compact Flash cards to a laptop on-site? Are they reliable? How
are the transfer speeds? OS support XP / OS X?

Cheers,
