To me, the object of multiple readers is to start them, walk away and forget 'em while all the downloading takes place. I have several of the little USB readers that come with Lexar cards. I've plugged as many as four at once into a desktop computer and downloaded all of the cards at once. I haven't timed it to see what it does to speed versus downloading one card at a time, but that's not the issue to me (or I'd be buying faster readers). I just like being able to download a pile of cards at once and not have to tend to them.

A question for those who might know: has anyone tried downloading from more than one USB2 reader at once? My
thinking is to run two or three, to dump files from more than one Mdrive... Any idea whether the controller for
the USB2 ports will just divide it's potential between the various readers, defeating the object of having
multiple readers...?
