You could try Marke Middlebrook at MCSI ( 01992 704900 )

If you're going to go high end ("The type of system I am looking at is a one shot
capability, which could then print from A6 to bus shelter poster size") and make it
work financially as well as photographically, you're going to have to educate your
client. Try appraising them of the salient points.

High end digital capture is better than film. Better colour fidelity , better tonal
range , no grainy mushiness. If you operate within a fully colour managed environment
(essential ) , you have a predictable workflow from capture to press. The time gained
using digital capture is a huge creative resource , and the client gets the
satisfaction and peace of mind of seeing the final shot before leaving the studio.

Why should this type of service be cheaper ? Add the facts that any decent kit is
going to cost somewhere in the region of 20K to 35K plus you'll no longer get f&p
mark up and it'll become fairly obvious that a digital premium will be required over
and above your normal fee. Plus of course any system work , including CMYK conversions
and proofing, becomes an extra chargeable item.

The good news is that most clients see this as entirely reasonable. Those that don't
are probably best worth avoiding anyway.

Bob Marchant.
