Well ColorSync is the underlying technology that ICC profiles are built

Understood but what I was driving at is that people seem to bypass the colorsynch engine itself by doing a P2P when printing...
Consequently most have chosen to implement a non ColorSync control panel based solution on both platforms.
A bit dead then... :-)
Leaf software and Photoshop among others can be set up to take advantage of
this panel, so that for example the Default input profile for leaf cameras
could be chosen here, as well as default working spaces on Photoshop.
It may be possible to assign a printer profile to your printer under OS X in
the colorsync utility.
How do I do this? I can't see a setting for a printer...
However, rather than doing a profile to profile, I'd prefer to simply select
the profile in the printer space menu under photoshop's print dialogue box,
thus converting on the fly while printing...
That's a good tip.
