Here goes.

I was a BIPP member for around 15 years but left in 2000 due the upcoming
president being someone who I would not wish to be represented by - he
publicly aired views which were, in my opinion, (how can I put this)
socially controversial & divisive.

Whilst there are a lot of very good people in the BIPP, some on this list,
its not surprising to me to hear that many long term, talented members have
left in the last few years for a variety of reasons.

Unless there has been a sea change their marketing help was minimal
eg I believe their directory (some 6000 print run) was sent out to 3000
members plus another copy to all advertisers. I believe that only about 1000
were sent to commissioners of photography.
Of course, things may have changed radically in the last few years.

On a positive note the camaraderie can be very good and I would not want to
put potential members off. At about 100 per year it may be good value for
many.

Kind Regards

Steve
