For the best looking, photographic prints, use Photo Paper pro (PR101) I have had the 9000 for 18 months and although it could do with a print head, it knocks the spots off even the Epson 2100. It is very fast (A4 1Min) and quiet and reasonable on ink. Best of all it does not wash itself every time you use it as other brands do...
HTH? Nick WB. I see nothing but good reports on this printer, but....will it make archival quality prints? Canon says nothing about archival paper or inks. You say the best paper to use is Photo Paper Pro: I guess that is not an archival paper.
