2 options

1: 
cheap one:

print from classic
yes IMO you do need 2 full installations of PS, ideally the machine is
booted from classic when installing to classic

that said - once you reboot in X  - either of these PS will start into X

UNLESS (booted in X)
you open the OS9 applications folder and get info on the photoshop
(classic) application - check the (start in classic) box. From now on 
that PS will open into classic.

not as hard as it sounds

2: 
the better one:

use a good PHOTO RIP (Colorburst springs to mind as uised by my very
image critical mono printer friend Malcolm Pasley)

I'll soon be installiing Colorburst for our own Jack Lowe (9600) so I'll keep
you posted how it goes.

and yes, if you change to a RIP you need new profiles.
