A few months ago, I would have agreed with you but I made the adjustment on
the recommmendation of Barry Colquohoun who runs Photoshop seminars and have
not had a single problem (this working under Windows XP Home).

>From the scratch disk size on the status bar you will see that only 908Mb of
the 1Gb available RAM is claimed by Photoshop at 100%, leaving room for the
system needs.
