I am Mac based but need to be able to deliver pictures to PC based clients via a pocket drive. Generally speaking I use a Lacie and MacOpener but yesterday it just would not work. The files had been prepared using OsX and was trying to transfer to PC using Windows XP. MacOpener was latest version.

PC could see drive but not any files thereon. Now I don't like using MacOpener as it means loading software onto a 3rd party computer and then removing it after the process has been completed. It has been suggested to me that if I formatted the hard drive as a PC drive using "fat45" [sic] then the PC would be able to "see" the drive without any problems whilst my Mac would still be able to recognise and work with the drive and its contents.

Asked this question at Mac show yesterday and assembled Mac experts could not answer question but "thought it might work". Any better and definate ideas please.

I also asked them why OSX could not read memory card titles entered under OS9? They had no idea and could not explain why OSX could not name them either and as far as they knew it was not going to be fixed. Such is progress.
